SeqentoPrivacy policy
Seqento helps makers and businesses create short videos: it comes up with an idea, writes a script, lets you record it and edits the result. This policy explains which personal data we process, why, and what your rights are. Questions? Email hello@seqento.com.
Who we are
Seqento ("we", "us") is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@seqento.com.
What we collect
Account. When you first open the app an account is created automatically on your device. We store the language and platform of your device and, if you allow notifications, a push notification token. You do not need to give us an email address to use the app.
Profile. What you tell us during onboarding and in your profile: a description of your trade, your audience, what viewers get from you, the tone of your videos, who appears on camera, your language, your name and, if you add them, a bio, social media links, a logo or a profile photo.
Content. Ideas, scripts and hooks that you write or that are generated for you, the video clips you record in the app (spoken segments and B-roll) and the videos we edit from them.
Usage. Your settings, credits, streaks and notification preferences, and technical logs needed to run and secure the service.
Camera and microphone. They are only used inside the app to record clips for your video, after you give permission. You can withdraw permission in your device settings at any time.
Website waitlist. If you join the waitlist on seqento.com we store your email address and the goal you selected. Where enabled, the website uses an advertising measurement pixel to measure the results of our advertising.
How we use it
To provide the service: generating ideas and scripts, guiding your recording, editing your video; to send the notifications you have enabled; to keep the service secure and working; and to improve Seqento. We do not sell your personal data.
Our legal bases are performing our agreement with you (providing the app), your consent (camera, microphone, notifications) and our legitimate interest in running and improving a secure service.
AI processing
Seqento uses automated, AI-based tools to create suggestions such as ideas, hooks and scripts from what you provide. Suggestions can be inaccurate; always check them before you publish.
Who processes your data
We use carefully selected service providers that process data on our behalf, for example to run and store the service. On the website only, an advertising measurement provider receives measurement data when its pixel is active. We only share what is needed for these purposes and require our providers to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data as long as your account exists. You can delete your account in the app under Profile; this removes your account, profile and the content linked to it from our systems. You can also ask us by email to delete your data, including your waitlist email address.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and export your personal data, to object to processing and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@seqento.com and we will respond within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority, in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Security
Data travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and access to our systems is limited to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you we will inform you as the law requires.
Children
Seqento is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, inform you in the app or by email.
